Al Core

An international humanitarian project restoring the water system at Tyre Public Hospital through collaboration between Rotaract clubs in Lebanon and Italy.

What we did

Al Core is a cross-national humanitarian initiative led by the Rotaract Club of Zgharta Zawie, in partnership with the Rotaract Clubs of Afragola – Frattamaggiore “Porte di Napoli” (Italy) and Tyre (Lebanon). The project aimed to restore the water system at Tyre Public Hospital, which had been severely damaged during the war in southern Lebanon. As the only public hospital in Tyre, the facility serves thousands of patients every year, making reliable access to clean water essential for medical care, hygiene, and daily hospital operations. The initial fundraising goal was $4,049, but thanks to the dedication of Rotaractors and the generosity of donors, the initiative successfully raised $4,300. The funds were generated through multiple initiatives, including the “Stand with Lebanon” bracelet campaign, the “Let Peace Be Your Light” candle fundraiser, art sales, and fundraising events organized in Italy. This international collaboration ensured that the hospital could restore its water system and continue serving the community safely. The project also strengthened international Rotaract partnerships and led to a twinning relationship between the Rotaract Clubs of Zgharta Zawie and Afragola – Frattamaggiore “Porte di Napoli”, highlighting the power of cross-border cooperation to create meaningful impact.
