One Potato, Many Cultures

An international cultural exchange where Rotaract clubs shared and prepared traditional potato-based recipes to celebrate the International Day of Potato.

What we did

One Potato, Many Cultures was an international cultural exchange project organized to celebrate the International Day of Potato. The initiative brought together the Rotaract Club of Zgharta Zawie with three partner clubs: Afragola – Frattamaggiore “Porte di Napoli” (Italy), Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe), and Club Opportunity (Tunisia). Each participating club shared an authentic potato-based recipe from their country, giving members the opportunity to discover new flavors and learn about different culinary traditions. After exchanging the recipes, members gathered to prepare and cook the dishes together, recreating the recipes from the other countries. The activity turned into a fun and engaging cultural experience where members could taste dishes from different parts of the world while learning about the cultures behind them. The project highlighted how food can bring people together and served as a creative way to strengthen international friendships between Rotaract clubs.
