A fundraising initiative launched in response to the war to support displaced families and contribute to post-war recovery efforts in Lebanon.
What we did
In October, the Rotaract Club of Zgharta Zawie, in collaboration with the Interact Club of Zgharta Zawie, launched the “Stand with Lebanon” initiative as a quick response to the war. Members designed and sold bracelets featuring the message “Stand with Lebanon”, symbolizing solidarity, resilience, and hope. Rotaractors sold the bracelets for $5, while Interactors sold them for $2, making them accessible to a wider audience and encouraging community participation. The funds were initially intended to help displaced families stay warm during the winter. After the war ended in November, the proceeds were redirected to support the reconstruction of a hospital in Tyre that had been damaged during the conflict. Beyond fundraising, the initiative strengthened collaboration between Rotaract and Interact members and demonstrated how collective action can provide meaningful support during challenging times.
