A twinning partnership between the Rotaract Club of Zgharta Zawie and the Rotaract Club of Afragola – Frattamaggiore “Porte di Napoli”, built on international friendship and collaboration.
What we did
The twinning between the Rotaract Club of Zgharta Zawie (Lebanon) and the Rotaract Club of Afragola – Frattamaggiore “Porte di Napoli” (Italy) began with a friendship formed during MEDICON Antalya in June 2024, when Joseph from Zgharta Zawie met Alfonso from Afragola. The connection between the two members quickly grew into a meaningful relationship between their clubs. When war broke out in Lebanon in October 2024, Alfonso reached out to express solidarity and support. This gesture strengthened the bond between the two clubs and inspired them to work together on humanitarian initiatives, including the Al Core project supporting Tyre Public Hospital. As the collaboration grew, both clubs decided to formalize their partnership. On February 20, 2025, they officially signed their twinning agreement during the “Twinning & Trivia” event, marking the beginning of a long-term relationship built on friendship, cooperation, and international understanding. This twinning reflects the spirit of Rotaract by showing how connections between members from different countries can grow into lasting partnerships, encouraging collaboration, cultural exchange, and joint projects that create meaningful impact across borders.
